The Wadjet (or Ujat, meaning "Whole One") is a powerful symbol of protection in ancient Egypt also known as the "Eye of Horus" and the "all seeing eye". The symbol was frequently used in jeweler made of gold, silver, lapis, wood, porcelain, and carnelian, to ensure the safety and health of the bearer and provide wisdom and prosperity.The Eye of Horus was believed to have healing and protective power, and it was used as a protective amulet.

Bella's Mini King Cakes

A King Cake is a special dessert that has been passed down from generation to generation to aide in the celebration of Mardi Gras. It originated in New Orleans in the eighteenth century and still is alive and well today. The cinnamon dough can be plain or embedded with different types of fillings including, cream cheese, pralines and preserves. Once baked they are iced and decorated in Mardi Gras colors.

Appetizer: FRIED GREEN TOMATOES accompanied by large, meaty chunks of Louisiana crab, and served on a bed of greens with a drizzle of Remoulade. 

Entrée: SHRIMP AND GRITS with Andouille and smoked tomatoes. Deep fried grits with bacon served with big head-on gulf shrimp.

Dessert: RED WINE CAKE a red velvet cake made with red wine and German butter cream frosting.

Entrée: PETIT FILET LAFITTE … Sautéed and stuffed with fried plump Louisiana oysters. Served with Creole Sauce Robert and SOUFFLÉ POTATOES … Legend has it that Collinet, French King Louis Phillipe’s (reign 1830-1848) chef unintentionally created soufflé potatoes by plunging already fried potatoes into extremely hot oil to reheat them when the King arrived late for dinner one night. To the Chef’s surprise and the king’s delight, the potatoes puffed up like little balloons. We hope that you will be equally delighted. Served with Béarnaise Sauce.

Dessert: STRAWBERRIES ARNAUD … Fresh strawberries in a marinade of port, red wine, spices and citrus finished off with Brocato’s French vanilla ice cream
